About

Equal Access Alabama (EAA) is a medical student service organization at UAB Heersink School of Medicine. Our mission is to help bridge the healthcare gap in rural and underserved areas in Alabama (with an emphasis on the remote Black Belt) through volunteering with our free monthly mobile clinic. We aim to foster meaningful experiences between care providers and patients, encouraging students to develop a deeper understanding of challenges in these underserved areas. We volunteer the first Saturday of each month partnering with Spirit of Luke Charitable Foundation, already serving these communities, to reduce barriers and promote equal access to healthcare.
