Vineyard Family Services

About

Description
Our mission, along with amazing community partners, has been helping feed kids in need, promoting responsible parenthood and helping families in crisis since 2006.

Vineyard Family Services (VFS) offers four programs to the community free of charge.
  1. BackPack Buddies is a special program offered to children ages 5-14 in the public school systems in Alabaster City, Pelham City, and Shelby County School Systems, feeding nearly 800 students weekly.
  2. Our F.I.T. DAD Program is a second chance opportunity for non-custodial fathers to improve their parenting skills, better connect with children and get the help they need to get back on their feet.
  3. Understanding Dad is a motherhood parenting class helping moms navigate through the difficult issues of co-parenting.
  4. VFS also offers free co-parenting plans and mediation services to cases involving children only.
All of our programs are designed with children in mind and with the goal to decrease child neglect and abuse. Botkin Life Skills help teens who are currently in Juvenile Detention in Shelby County. We also offer co-parenting plans to parents who cannot afford an attorney, and mediation services are available upon request.
